I was about to hand my childhood friend a love letter when suddenly comments appeared floating in the air:
"Girl, don't fall for him! The male lead is already starting to like the innocent flower girl."
"Everyone knows in these tragic romance stories, our poor girl gets framed, loses a kidney, breaks her leg, miscarries, and then they force a happy ending."
"What's so great about a fake nice guy? Girl, look at someone else!"
"Yeah! Turn around and check out the school bad boy. He's been scratching that wall next to him so hard it's falling apart."
My hand trembled, and I casually tossed the letter into the trash can.
The floating comments continued:
"She doesn't even know the bad boy picked up her love letter and changed the male lead's name to his own."
"He worked so hard on it! He keeps it in his pocket and touches it every day. The ink's fading, and he cried so hard about it."

I blinked hard, but those floating words were still there. This wasn't my imagination.
In front of me, Ethan looked increasingly impatient, eyeing the pink envelope in my hand. He clicked his tongue: "Olivia, we're seniors now. Can't you do something productive with your time?"
"Coming at me with this embarrassingly ugly envelope for a confession—I'm the one who should be embarrassed."
Despite his words, he reluctantly reached out his hand.
"Girl, don't give it to him! This morning the innocent flower girl drew three ugly ducks, and he called them swans. Such a hypocrite!"
"Am I the only one who thinks her ribbon is beautifully tied? I really want one..."
"If she gave the letter to the bad boy, he'd cherish it from morning till night, haha!"
"Don't worry! The male lead will pick it up after she throws it away, then stay up all night changing the name to his, and smile like an idiot whenever he looks at it."
I suddenly shivered and turned to look at Jake in the back.
Him? Picking up love letters? Changing names? Keeping it close?
Wait, I'm confused now.
"Olivia, what are you up to now?"
I snapped back to reality. Ethan had noticed I wasn't letting go of the envelope, and his expression darkened.
I rolled my eyes at him. "Who said it was for you?"
"Hmph, if not for me, then who? Ever since we were kids, you've—"
Before he could finish, I tossed the letter into the trash can.
I raised my eyebrows at him. "It was for the trash can. As for you, you're not even worthy."
After dusting off my hands, I returned to my seat.
The comments started flowing again:
"Why did she throw the love letter in the trash?"
"I don't know, but she should've given it directly to the bad boy and saved him the trouble of digging through garbage later."
"Hahaha! I don't know about the rest, but the wall next to him is practically destroyed, and his fingers are bleeding."
"Feeling sorry for him for three seconds, but what can you do when he can't speak up? She'll never know he likes her."
I turned around skeptically but only saw him with his head down, nothing unusua...
