My wife, Lucy, and I got tapped for this outdoor reality show.
But here's the kicker: they swapped out one of the celebrity guests at the last minute. And guess who they replaced him with? Liam freaking Hayes.
Liam’s a total heartthrob, riding high on the fame wave right now.
And, the real drama? Everyone knows he's Lucy’s ex.
They were the "it" couple way back when they were both starting out, burned bright for two years, and then crashed and burned spectacularly.
After the breakup, they were both surprisingly classy about it, never trashed each other in the press. They became this "what could have been" relationship that the internet just can't let go of.
Then, three years ago, Lucy and I got together on a movie set, and I became her secret husband—a secret she's been keeping very, very close.
She figures I'm just not famous enough to go public with, and that being with me could hurt her career.
I went to a serious film school, worked my way up the ladder from bit parts to leading roles.
I’m always on the list for the big awards each year. I’ve been told by older, wiser actors to protect my reputation, so I've avoided the fluff and bubblegum stuff. I’m hoping to land some serious awards for my work.
But Lucy still isn't satisfied; she wants a husband who’s trending on Twitter every other day.

Lucy blurted out, "Don't read into it."
We both froze.
"Andrew, I didn't mean it like that."
Just then, the show’s director called us to set, and Lucy made a beeline out of there like a prisoner escaping Alcatraz.
I noticed, though, that her hands were balled into fists. She always does that when she’s nervous.
She’s usually so cool and collected. What was she so freaked out about?
What was she so worried about Liam "reading into?"
During the show, Lucy made a point of avoiding Liam's eyes.
But man, Liam was like a supernova that day.
The host kept dropping these little hints about their past romance. Nobody knew about me and Lucy, so I just plastered a smile on my face and clapped like a robot at jokes that weren’t even funny.
During the game part, they strapped Lucy and a few other girls to these chairs by the pool. If their teammate answered a question wrong, the chairs would launch them into the water.
I was trying to play it cool, but I couldn’t fake the enthusiasm. Couldn't even muster a smile.
While I was spacing out, the whole soundstage went dark.
Power outage.
Screaming and shouting filled the air. The director was trying to keep everyone calm. "Backstage, get those circuits checked, stat!"
“Flashlights, where are the flashlights?”
I was suddenly hit with a wave of panic. Lucy’s been afraid of the dark since she was a kid. Every night, I leave a little nightli...
