Being single, I stumbled across this indie flick about a college girl getting messed up, and, I’m not gonna lie, it totally messed with my head in a good way. I couldn't shake the feeling.
So, in the name of "research," I invited my single neighbor from upstairs to come hang out. I was looking for a more authentic experience.
But wouldn't you know it? When the guy came over, he wasn't alone.

People always think women are so straightforward and proper, but we've got our own little kinks, just like the guys. Maybe even more so.
The other night, after I got my little sister, Mandy, tucked into bed, I popped on my headphones, plopped on the couch, and fired up my laptop, looking for something to watch. I ended up choosing this indie flick about a college girl who gets tricked into going to some dude’s basement and getting all kinds of messed up.
The weird thing was, her screams and the way she was acting didn't make me feel sorry for her, not even a little. It gave me this totally strange feeling instead. Like, an excited feeling.
After the movie was over, I just sat there, my mind replaying all the scenes. My heart was pounding. I’m normally the sensible, mature big sister to Mandy and the straight-laced professional at work. I haven't even had that many boyfriends, never mind anything like this. If something like that happened to me...
I couldn't really figure it out, but the thought was definitely turning me on. I went back to my bedroom and lay next to Mandy, replaying the movie in my head until I drifted off to sleep.
For the next few nights, I used my “need to work late” excuse to get Mandy to bed. Then I'd curl up in the living room, secretly watching the movie. Luckily, Mandy sleeps like a log, so she didn’t notice a thing.
During the day, I was a polished, well-put-together reporter with years of experience. At night, when the blinds were drawn, I was a different person altogether. But it was always alone, and it was starting to feel a little… repetitive.
Then, this crazy idea popped into my head. I thought, what if I found a guy I trusted to play the aggressor? A controlled scenario to, like, really experience that vibe! Maybe it could even help me with some stories I'm working on. But that was super risky. What if he actually lost control?
I started thinking about the guys upstairs.

There are two guys who share the apartment above us: skinny dude, probably in his early 20s, named Liam; and a slightly older, kind of chubby guy named Dave. We've crossed paths a few times. They actually helped Mandy and me move in, hauling our boxes and stuff. They even invited us up for dinner once, but we were like, “Nah, too soon,” since we barely knew them and it would’ve been kinda awkward. Plus, I heard Liam just got a girlfriend, so that's even more complicated.
But Dave’s single, which is perfect. He'd be the perfect guy for this!
At dinner, I casually asked Mandy if she had any plans for the weekend. I didn't want her knowing about...
