There was this video on TikTok asking, “How much damage can a white girl ghost do?” My boyfriend commented, “Even if my wife was pregnant with my kid, I’d still be hung up on my white girl ghost.”
Lying on the operating table, a tear trickled down, and then I actually laughed.
Because, honestly, that's exactly how he acted.

The day I went into labor, it was a mess. Liam, my boyfriend, was with his "white girl ghost," Sarah, at her prenatal appointment.
The hospital was flashing red, they needed a family member to sign off on a life-threatening procedure. I called him, like, a million times. He kept hanging up on me. Finally, he picked up.
“Liam, the doctor says the baby’s heart rate is all over the place, there’s a good chance it’s an amniotic fluid embolism… They need you to sign for an emergency surgery, where are you? I’m so scared…” I was drenched in sweat and my voice was barely a whisper.
Liam couldn't have cared less. He was yelling, “Olivia, it's just having a baby, why are you being so dramatic? Everyone else does it on their own, why do I have to come sign something?”
“Don't you know Sarah has an appointment today? She’s all alone and I’m trying to support her. Have a little compassion for a change.”
“You’re not going to die without me there, why can’t you ask your folks to sign?”
Then he just hung up on me.
I laid there in the delivery room, two tears sliding down my face. This was the man I’d cut off my family for. How messed up was that?
He forgot, or maybe didn't even care, that my parents had disowned me for choosing him.
It was a joke, really. In his world, me and our kid together were worth less than one hair on Sarah’s head.
Sarah, his old flame, had just rolled back into town when I was seven months pregnant.
One phone call and Liam was packing his bags to leave me. I tried to block the door, but he pushed me out of the way.
“Sarah didn't dump me all those years ago, she was forced into human trafficking in Myanmar. That’s why she disappeared.”
“She’s had a terrible life there, and barely escaped that hellhole. She’s a mess, and she's pregnant from those awful people. She needs help!.”
“Someone has to take care of her.”
At that moment, I collapsed onto the floor.
I was crying, asking him. “Sarah is miserable, doesn’t that apply to me as well?”
"Her getting trafficked wasn’t my fault."
"Why does my husband have to take care of another woman?"
"I’m seven months pregnant, I need someone to take care of me too.”
“I get that it’s tough for her, but does anyone even understand me?”
Liam was stunned. He looked at me, shocked, then his face twisted into anger.
“Are you even human? Olivia, I can’t believe you’re acting like this. I’ve really misjudged you.”
“Sarah has been through hell, can’t you show some sympathy? You have friends and family, Sarah has no one but me.”
He gave me this disgusted look and walked out slamming the door behind him.
For two whole months, he was gone. No calls, no texts, nothing...
