On the day when our SAT scores were released, my half-sister Willow Hinton invited our classmates to sing karaoke in the most luxurious club in the city.
I served them as a waitress.
She mocked me for being a good-for-nothing for I worked as a KTV hostess to earn tuition for my studies at Zill University.
She had to pay over 3,000 dollars. Seeing the number on the tab, I went to my aunt, Danika Cabrera.
"Don't waive their payment. I need the money to buy daily supplies at Hollowham University."

I pushed the cart into Room 888 and happened to hear Willow talking loudly.
"Our family runs this club. My dad and mom met here!"
Willow was my half-sister. We shared the same father.
She was right.
Her mother, Cloe Ritter, used to be the most popular hostess in this club and hooked up with my father here.
However, the owner of this club was not my father, Phillip Hinton, but my mother's father, Reilly Cabrera.
Willow was so pretentious.
The lights were too dim, and they couldn't see me rolling my eyes.
One of Willow's female classmates sincerely admired her.
"Since you bring us here, does that mean we don't have to pay?"
Willow was stunned and came up with an excuse.
"All this won't cost more than 5,000 dollars. I don't want to bother my dad for such a small amount. I'll pay for it."
"Willow, I'm so jealous of you! You are a top student, you are beautiful, and your family is so wealthy. Moreover, you are nice to people! Not like your elder sister..."
I listened to them carefully.
Willow sighed, "Leave her alone. She didn't have a hint of a smile after the SAT scores were released today. I reckon she can't even go to Zill University..."
Just then, someone bumped into me heavily when passing by.
The fruit tray I needed to serve fell to the ground.
Willow shouted and yelled at me.
"Are you new here? Clumsy! Do you know how much this fruit tray is? Can you afford to compensate for it?"
She ordered the cheapest one here, which was less than 100 dollars.
Then a classmate turned on the main light.
"Ryan Hinton? What are you doing here?"
I greeted them with a polite smile, "Hello, everyone. Actually, I'm working here..."
Actually, there were too many customers these days. My aunt asked me to fill in as a waitress for a few days.
Willow sneered, "No wonder you have been busy recently. Turns out you are working here. It makes sense. You need money to study at Zill University."
Nina Juarez, the only classmate who was on good terms with me, came over and held my hand.
"Ryan, don't you have a better choice?"
I raised my head and said, "Zill University is a nice choice. It's as good as Hollowham University!"
Willow burst into laughter.
"Ryan, you're humiliating yourself. Never mind. You don't have to compensate for the fruit tray. Go back to your work. After all, you have to earn some bucks."

I tidied up the mess and left the private room. Then, I went to the restroom.
When my last year of high school was about to start, my grandfather took my mother, Perla Cabrera...
