My five-year-old daughter, Lily, came home from preschool and immediately dropped to her knees, begging me not to send her back. She said she just didn't want to go anymore.
When I asked her why, she just cried and shook her head, refusing to say anything.
Something felt really wrong, so I lifted her shirt. Her back and arms were covered in a mess of tiny puncture marks – like someone had been sticking her with needles.
I was shaking with rage. I snapped a picture and posted it in the preschool parent group chat, demanding, “Who did this?”
A woman with the name “Brenda’s Mom” replied, all smug, “My son, Brandon, did it!”
Then she sent two more pictures.
One was my wedding photo with my husband, Tom.
The other was a picture of me, Lily, and Tom.
“You trashy homewrecker! You stole my husband and had an illegitimate kid with him? I should have told my son to beat this little brat to death!”
The parent chat blew up. Everyone was yelling at me and my daughter.
Even the teacher chimed in, @ing Brenda’s Mom: “Brandon did a great job! He’ll get a star for his good work tomorrow!”
Brenda’s Mom threw in a smug emoji and then taunted me, @ing my name: “If you have a problem, come see me! Me and my son are still at the school.”
I grabbed Lily, and while driving to the preschool, I messaged my company’s legal team:
“Draw up a divorce agreement based on the pre-nup. Get Tom’s name off everything!”
“Also, my daughter was assaulted at her preschool. Get a team down there ASAP, I want them to pay a serious price!”
“A freeloader husband who was having an affair and has a love child?”

When I got to the school, I immediately spotted Brenda’s Mom standing near the entrance with a bunch of other parents.
“Brenda, you're so low-key! We had no idea your husband was the CEO of Sterling Enterprises!”
“I know, right? I could tell you just had that rich-lady vibe about you from the start, that upper crust quality!”
“We’re here to back you, Brenda. We're all decent moms; we can't let these gold-digging sluts get away with anything!”
“Yeah, what did we expect from a homewrecker's kid? Brandon is a real hero for what he did. Sterling’s next CEO, right there!”
Lily’s teacher was fawning all over Brenda’s Mom, whispering, “Brenda, what does Brandon like to eat? Let me know so we can adjust the menu. We want to cater to him!”
Brenda’s Mom lapped up all the praise and adoration, like a total diva.
Tom had been living off me for years. To give him something to do, I had put him in charge of Sterling, the smallest of my businesses.
Little did I know it would become the thing that Brenda’s Mom would brag about and be worshipped for.
When they saw me, the parents instantly turned on me, giving me the stink eye, like I was some kind of disease.
The teacher walked right up to me and said coldly, “Lily’s mom, the principal asked me to let you know that Lily has been expelled, effective immediately.”
I glared at the teacher and said, "My daughter was attacked here, and instead of protec...
